Clinical Skills Workshop

Our 1-day workshop is usually hosted at the Clinical Skills Laboratory at the John Radcliffe Hospital or within Oxford colleges (Trinity College pictured above). The aim is to provide clinical skills experience (e.g. blood taking from a mannequin) to approximately 20 local Year 12 students with an interest in medicine or biomedical science.

Aims

Introduce prospective medical students to different areas of medicine and medical sciences to stimulate interests in topics for further self-directed research

Demystify medical school applications and medicine as a career

Provide a friendly and supportive environment for prospective students to engage, ask questions and feel reassured that Oxford Medical school welcomes students from all backgrounds

Offer all of the above at NO COST to students
